NEWS FROM THE PORCH, DECEMBER 2017
Another year nearly over, so it’s time for us to thank all our loyal supporters who have followed us throughout 2017. We’ve broken new ground a few times this year: our first appearance on Felixstowe FM Radio, a first trip to Belgium, playing at the first “Saints Beer & Blues Festival” in Ipswich and playing our first stadium concert (well, a marquee on the Ipswich Town practice pitch if you must split hairs).
We were also delighted, after taking a year off, to return to the fabulous Swanage Blues Festival in March and October.
Next year is shaping up nicely, starting with a return to the Red Lion at Manningtree where once again we will be opening up for the wonderful Ben Waters. This was a great night last time and not surprisingly it is already sold out.
Finally, “Midweek Blues in Town” kicked off in style with American delta bluesman Kent DuChaine in November. This is a series of events featuring some of the best in blues and roots music which will continue each month in 2018, starting with “Jamie Williams and the Roots Collective” on 10th January and “Clare Free” on 21st February. Each will start at 8pm at the Duke of York in Ipswich and admission is free!
More news to come next month ~ we hope to see you all soon.
